Juniors on the Rise

Former NEPGA Junior Tour Stars headed to USGA Amateur Fourball

-Springfield, PA

Patrick Frodigh and John Lazor of Westwood, MA, former NEPGA Junior Tour players, carded a four-under-par, 66 to share medalist honors with another team at Rolling Green Golf Club on Monday to qualify for the USGA's Four Ball Championship. They'll be heading down to Tequesta, FL for the US Amateur Four Ball Championship in May of 2018.

Frodigh and Lazor have been making names for themselves in New England since 2010. Frodigh captured his first NEPGA Jr. PGA Championship victory in 2012 after shooting a two-round score of +3, 147 at Black Swan Country Club. Lazor captured the same championship in 2013, played at Marlborough Country Club

Since their days in New England they’ve moved on to collegiate golf. Frodigh started at the University of Denver and Louisville and now plays for Elon University in North Carolina. Lazor plays for Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.

The pair has been longtime friends and hadn’t had a chance to make a run at the national event until this year. They flew in from their respective colleges to make their qualifying attempt. In the one-round competition, the duo fired a four-under-par 66 with a key birdie on the 18th. They had company at the top of the leaderboard, however, and advance at T1 as there were two qualifying spots available.

The USGA’s US Amateur Four Ball Championship will be held May 19-23, 2018 at the Jupiter Hills Club in Tequesta, FL.

Good luck to Patrick and John!

Congratulations to the Patriot 128 League
for winning the PGA Jr. League New
